Item 1.01 Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.

On September 4, 2012, Exide Technologies (the "Company") executed a new three-year agreement with Daramic, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Polypore International, Inc., (the "Agreement"), for the supply of a majority of the Company’s demand for polyethylene separators. The Agreement provides the Company with flexibility to multi-source certain of its polyethylene separator needs. The Agreement expires on December 31, 2015 and may be renewed annually thereafter, unless either party provides notice of termination at least six months prior to expiration of the initial term or any renewal term thereafter.
