Effective June 27, 2011 the Optimized All Cap portfolio changed its name to Fundamental All Cap Core and the Optimized Value portfolio has changed its name to the Fundamental Large Cap Value. In addition, each of these portfolios has revised its investment objective. Accordingly, we amend and restate the following disclosure under the Table of Investment Options and Investment Subadvisers to reflect these changes:
Fundamental All Cap Core (formerly Optimized All Cap) | John Hancock Asset Management, a division of Manulife Asset Management (US) LLC | To seek long-term growth of capital. Under normal market conditions, the portfolio invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities. Market capitalizations of these companies will span the capitalization spectrum. Equity securities include common, convertible, and preferred securities and their equivalents. | ||
Fundamental Large Cap Value (formerly Optimized Value) | John Hancock Asset Management, a division of Manulife Asset Management (US) LLC | To seek long-term capital appreciation. Under normal market conditions, the portfolio invests at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities of large-capitalization companies. The portfolio considers large-capitalization companies to be those that at the time of purchase have a market capitalization equal to or greater than that of the top 80% of the companies that comprise the Russell 1000 Index.* Equity securities include common, convertible, and preferred securities and their equivalents. |
