Overview of 3Q20 Results Notes • Third quarter earnings of $ 3 . 6 million ( $ 0 . 37 /share) were adversely affected by an increase in the provision for loan and lease losses associated with the COVID - 19 pandemic, as well as a lower net interest margin due to actions earlier this year by the Federal Reserve to lower the Federal Funds Rate . • Net interest income for the three months ended September 30 , 2020 was $ 14 . 9 million, 6 . 4 % lower compared to $ 16 . 0 million for the same period in 2019 . • The increased provision expense was attributed primarily to the partial charge off arising from four distinct commercial lending relationships .
