Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

On November 11, 2021, Dr. Tahira K. Hira , a member of the Board of Directors (the "Board") of Heartland Express, Inc., a Nevada corporation (the "Company"), provided notice to the Company of her resignation as a Board member effective immediately. Dr. Hira's decision to resign is not a result of any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company's operations, policies, or practices.

After giving effect to Dr. Hira's decision to resign her position as a Board member, the majority of the members of the Board will continue to be independent.
