Description of Business	A. DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a Delaware corporation, was founded in 1981. We use our business and clinical expertise to develop and commercialize products that provide clear benefits and improve people’s lives. We have a diverse portfolio of products and services with a focus on maternal health, anemia management and cancer supportive care, including our product Makena® (hydroxyprogesterone caproate injection), which we acquired in November 2014, services related to the collection, processing and storage of umbilical cord blood stem cell and cord tissue units (the “CBR Services”) operated through Cord Blood Registry® (“CBR”), which we acquired in August 2015, our product Feraheme® (ferumoxytol) for intravenous (“IV”) use and MuGard® Mucoadhesive Oral Wound Rinse. Throughout this Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q, AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and our consolidated subsidiaries are collectively referred to as “the Company,” “AMAG,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”
