NON-CONTROLLING INTERESTS IN THE PARENT COMPANY [Text Block]	NON-CONTROLLING INTERESTS IN THE PARENT COMPANY Non-controlling interests in the Parent Company’s financial statements relate to redeemable common limited partnership interests in the Operating Partnership held by parties other than the Parent Company. As of June 30, 2013 and December 31, 2012, the aggregate book value of the non-controlling interests associated with the redeemable common limited partnership interests in the accompanying consolidated balance sheet of the Parent Company was $20.4 million and $21.2 million, respectively. The Parent Company believes that the aggregate settlement value of these interests (based on the number of units outstanding and the closing price of the common shares on the balance sheet date) was approximately $23.8 million and $22.5 million, respectively, as of June 30, 2013 and December 31, 2012.
