NOTE 8 — Capital transactions

During the quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2017, Capstead issued an additional 1.7 million and 2.1 million shares of its 7.50% Series E Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock through an at-the-market continuous offering program at average prices of $24.79 and $24.77, net of underwriting fees and other costs, for net proceeds of $42.1 million and $51.9 million, respectively.  No additional preferred shares were issued subsequent to quarter-end through November 3, 2017.
