NOTE 17.    SEGMENT AND GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION

We operate in one reportable segment which is comprised of one operating segment. We design, develop and market high performance analog mixed-signal integrated circuits and advanced sub-system solutions for the Networking & Storage, Industrial & Embedded Systems, and Communications Infrastructure markets. Our product portfolio includes power management and connectivity components, communications products, high precision or high speed analog ICs, and data compression and storage solutions.

Our net sales by end market were summarized as follows as of the dates indicated below (in thousands):

Our foreign operations are conducted primarily through our wholly-owned subsidiaries in Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan and the United Kingdom. Our principal markets include North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Net sales by geographic areas represent direct sales principally to original equipment manufacturers (“OEM”), or their designated subcontract manufacturers, and to distributors (affiliated and unaffiliated) who buy our products and resell to their customers.

Substantially all of our long-lived assets at each of December 29, 2013 and March 31, 2013 were located in the United States.
