On February 16, 2022, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of National Retail Properties, Inc. (the “Company”), pursuant to the recommendation of the Governance and Nominating Committee, increased the size of the Board from nine (9) to ten (10) directors and appointed Stephen A. (“Steve”) Horn, Jr. to the Board of the Company, effective February 17, 2022. Mr. Horn’s appointment to the Board was made in connection with his previously announced transition to Chief Executive Officer and President of the Company which will be effective April 29, 2022.
Mr. Horn has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since August 2020 and as Executive Vice President and Chief Acquisition Officer of the Company since January 2014. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions for the Company from June 2008 to December 2013, and as Vice President of Acquisitions of the Company from 2003 to 2008. Prior to 2003, Mr. Horn worked in the mergers and acquisitions group at A.G. Edwards & Sons in St. Louis, Missouri.
As an employee of the Company, Mr. Horn will not receive any compensation for his service as a member of the Board.
