                     Hancock Holding Company officers to present at Gulf South Bank Conference


     GULFPORT,  MS (May 5, 2005) - On  Tuesday,  May 10,  2005 at 10:50 p.m.  (CST),  officers  of Hancock  Holding
Company  (NASDAQ:  HBHC),  parent company of Hancock Bank, will address  financial  analysts from across the nation
attending the 10th annual Gulf South Bank Conference at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New Orleans, LA.
