The Tier 1 common equity ratio is a financial measure that is used by regulators, bank management, and investors to assess the capital position of financial services companies. The Tier 1 common equity ratio as calculated for Basel III is considered non-GAAP, and as such we have presented a reconciliation to the Tier 1 common equity ratio under Basel I that is currently used by regulators. All figures are estimated at the time of the earnings release and subject to revision 2. Improved treatment of mortgage servicing assets essentially offset by disallowed deferred tax assets 3.
