On September 17,  2007, Cognos Incorporated announced that it had received early termination of the mandatory waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act (HSR) in connection with its cash tender offer for Applix, Inc.  Conditions to the transaction that remain outstanding include, among others, a minimum tender of at least a majority of then outstanding shares of Applix on a fully diluted basis, and receipt of other required regulatory approvals.
