On October 16, 2007, Dr. Francis Cano advised AVANT Immunotherapeutics, Inc. (the “Company”) that he resigned as a member of the Board of Directors of the Company, as well as from the Compensation Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee effective immediately. Dr. Cano has advised the Company that he intends to pursue other business opportunities.
