9. COMMON STOCK

During fiscal years 2018 and 2016, the Company purchased 305,473 shares and 87,904 shares, respectively, of its common stock for approximately $21,856,000 and $4,353,000, respectively. During fiscal year 2017, the Company did not purchase any of its common stock. At January 31, 2019, the Company had prior authorization by its Board of Directors to purchase, in open market transactions, an additional 349,861 shares of its common stock.
