Commitments

Xilinx leases some of its facilities and office buildings under non-cancelable operating leases that expire at various dates through April 2029. Additionally, Xilinx entered into a land lease in conjunction with the Company's building in Singapore, which will expire in November 2035 and the lease cost was settled in an up-front payment in June 2006. Some of the operating leases for facilities and office buildings require payment of operating costs, including property taxes, repairs, maintenance and insurance. Most of the Company's leases contain renewal options for varying terms. Xilinx also leases cars under non-cancelable operating leases that expire at various dates through December 2021. Approximate future minimum lease payments under non-cancelable operating leases are as follows:

Aggregate future rental income to be received, which includes rents from both owned and leased property, totaled $9.3 million as of March 31, 2018. Rent expense, net of rental income, under all operating leases was $3.9 million for fiscal 2018, $5.0 million for fiscal 2017, and $4.5 million for fiscal 2016. Rental income was not material for fiscal 2018, 2017 or 2016.

Other commitments as of March 31, 2018 totaled $157.8 million and consisted of purchases of inventory and other non-cancelable purchase obligations related to subcontractors that manufacture silicon wafers and provide assembly and test services. The Company expects to receive and pay for these materials and services in the next three to six months, as the products meet delivery and quality specifications. Additionally, as of March 31, 2018, the Company had $26.2 million of non-cancelable license obligations to providers of electronic design automation software and hardware/software maintenance and $28.9 million commitments primarily related to open purchase orders from ordinary operations. These commitments expire at various dates through December 2022.
