Short-term Investments	3. Short-term Investments Nucor held $ 576.9 million of short-term investments as of December 31, 2022 ($253.0 million as of December 31, 2021). The investments held as of December 31, 2022 and December 31, 2021 consisted mainly of several certificates of deposit (“CD’s”), commercial paper and corporate bonds, which were classified as available-for-sale. Interest income on the CD’s and corporate bonds was recorded as earned. No realized or unrealized gains or losses were incurred in 2022, 2021 or 2020.
