POWER OF ATTORNEY

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That the undersigned officers and directors of Northern Trust Corporation, a Delaware corporation (“Corporation”), do hereby severally make, nominate and appoint Frederick H. Waddell, William L. Morrison, Aileen B. Blake and William R.
