Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure.

On September 15, 2004, Casey’s General Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: CASY) reported August 2004 same-store sales results. Average gasoline gallons sold per store decreased 1.2% in August 2004 compared to August 2003. Same-store sales of grocery and other merchandise increased 0.3% and prepared foods and fountain same-store sales increased 10.2% in August 2004 compared to August 2003.
