DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS AND BASIS OF PRESENTATION Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. and its subsidiaries, including as operating under the trade name “Inotiv” (“We,” “Our,” “Us,” the “Company,” “BASi” and “Inotiv”) engage in contract laboratory research services and other services related to pharmaceutical development, chemical and medical device development, biomedical research and government-sponsored research. The Company also manufactures scientific instruments for life sciences research, which we sell with related software for use by pharmaceutical companies, universities, government research centers and medical research institutions. Our customers are located throughout the world.
