        State below in reasonable detail the reasons why Forms 10-K, 20-F, 11-K, 10-Q, N-SAR, N-CSR, or the transition report or portion thereof, could not be filed within the prescribed time period.

        Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. (the "Company") is unable to file its Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2005, within the prescribed time period without unreasonable effort and expense. Specifically, due to the conversion to a new computer system during the year, the Company has been unable to integrate the information from the new system and the various predecessor systems in order to complete the Form 10-K and allow its auditors to complete their procedure in a timely fashion.
