COMMITMENTS AND CONTINGENCIES	COMMITMENTS AND CONTINGENCIES: The Company is a defendant in various lawsuits and claims arising out of the normal course of business. Like certain other large retail employers, the Company has been faced with allegations of purported class-wide consumer and wage and hour violations. Litigation is inherently unpredictable and the outcome of these matters cannot presently be determined. Although the actions are being vigorously defended, the Company could in the future, incur judgments or enter into settlements of claims that could have a material adverse effect on its results of operations in any particular period. Regis is a defendant in two wage and hour lawsuits in California. The first, a class action in US District Court, alleges various violations of the California Labor Code, including but not limited to failure to pay wages, failure to permit rest breaks, failure to pay all wages due on termination of employment, waiting time penalties, failure to provide accurate wage statements and violation of the business and professions code. This case has preliminarily settled, pending approval of the court and class, for $2.1 million. The second, a class action filed in California Superior Court, alleges various violations of the California Labor Code as well as PAGA penalties. Barring successful objection from plaintiffs’ attorneys to the first class action, the second case will be subsumed into the first case’s settlement. As of June 30, 2019 and March 31, 2020, $1.5 and $2.1 million, respectively, was included within accrued expenses on the Condensed Consolidated Balance Sheet related to these class action lawsuits.
