On August 16, 2010, First Merchants Corporation issued a press release announcing the declaration of a cash dividend of $0.01 per share. The cash dividend is payable on September 20, 2010 to stockholders of record as of September 6, 2010. A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.

First Merchants Corporation declared a cash dividend on August 16, 2010 of $0.01 per share, payable on September 20, 2010, to shareholders of record on September 6, 2010. For purposes of broker trading, the ex-date of the cash dividend is September 4, 2010.
