Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

 

On August 2, 2007, Michael Slade, Senior Vice President and Director of NBTY, Inc. (“NBTY”), advised NBTY that he will be retiring as an officer of NBTY, effective December 31, 2007, to pursue other interests.  Mr. Slade intends to remain on the Board of Directors of NBTY.  In connection with this retirement, Mr. Slade adopted a stock trading plan in accordance with Rule 10b5-1 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.  A copy of the press release announcing the adoption of this plan is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
