1. ORGANIZATION AND BUSINESS DESCRIPTION	We are a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel investigational products that help utilize the body’s own immune system to fight cancer, also known as immunotherapy. Our lead immunotherapy candidate, bavituximab, is in Phase III development for the treatment of previously-treated non-small cell lung cancer (the “Phase III SUNRISE trial”) along with several planned Company-sponsored trials and ongoing investigator-sponsored trials evaluating other treatment combinations and additional oncology indications. In addition to our product development efforts, we operate a wholly-owned biomanufacturing subsidiary, Avid Bioservices, Inc. (“Avid”), a contract manufacturing organization that provides fully integrated current Good Manufacturing Practices (“cGMP”) services from cell line development to commercial cGMP biomanufacturing for its third-party customers while also supporting the clinical and potential commercial drug supply of bavituximab.
