Item 8.01    Other Events
On July 23, 2019, Stage Stores, Inc. (“our,” “we” or “registrant”) issued a news release announcing our plans to expand our off-price conversion strategy by increasing the number of stores that we plan to convert to Gordmans off-price by 100 in fiscal year 2020, bringing the total number of 2020 off-price conversions to 250 stores. We also updated our full year 2019 capital guidance to $30 million, and the number of planned store closures in 2019 to between 55 and 60. A copy of the news release is attached to this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1.
