Explanation of Responses:
1. Pursuant to the 2016 Grantor Retained Annuity Trust (GRAT), of which reporting person is trustee, the remainder interest of the GRAT was distributed as a gift to the irrevocable trust for the benefit of the reporting person's children, of which the reporting person is the trustee. See footnote 2 below.
2. These shares include 18,090 shares referenced in footnote 1 above and are held in an irrevocable trust for the benefit of the reporting person's children. The reporting person is trustee of this trust.
3. Includes shares acquired through the reinvestment of dividends and dividend equivalent rights credited to the reporting person when and as dividends were paid on Motorola Solutions, Inc. common stock. Also includes 25,392 shares previously held in the GRAT but which were distributed as an annuity to the insider in accordance with the GRAT terms upon its expiration since the insider's last filed report.
4. These shares are held in an irrevocable trust for the benefit of the reporting person's wife and children. The reporting person's wife is trustee of this trust.
