These commitments are estimates of costs based on assumed minimum levels of flying under the capacity purchase agreements and American’s actual payments could differ materially. These obligations also include the portion of American’s future obligations representing the lease of aircraft for accounting purposes in the amount of approximately $377 million in 2018, $355 million in 2019, $320 million in 2020, $282 million in 2021, $239 million in 2022 and $699 million in 2023 and thereafter.
