Business Segment Net Sales and (Loss) Income before Income Taxes

Presented below are the net sales and (loss) income before income taxes for the Corporation’s two business segments. Effective May 1, 2015, the Corporation completed an internal reorganization of its “back office” functions which resulted in certain employees of the segments becoming employees of the Corporation and associated costs (approximately $600 and $1,000 for the three and six months ended June 30, 2015, respectively) being recorded as “other expense, including corporate costs” in the following table. Other expense, including corporate costs for the six months ended June 30, 2015 also includes corporate’s portion of the curtailment charge incurred in connection with freezing a portion of the U.S. defined benefit pension plan.
