We have long admired Kimball International’s family of brands and furniture expertise and we look forward to welcoming them to the HNI family. While this news has been just announced, and there is much more to learn as the transaction progresses towards closing, there are 3 specific areas of value creation worth noting: • First is the highly complementary portfolio of products including Kimball International’s growing soft seating offering, strong laminate offering with a flexible operational model, and a winning ancillary offering. • Second is the potential to accelerate HNI’s growth by diversifying our collective supply chain and manufacturing footprint, while furthering our presence in growing geographic areas. This enables more capabilities as we work to meet the market in the post pandemic workplace. • Lastly, this effort will bring together two companies with very similar cultures and values including a passion for working with office furniture experts like yourself and a strong desire to always be helpful. While we are excited about the future potential of this news, it will remain business as usual for us and our work together. Looking ahead, the transaction is expected to close by mid-2023, subject to regulatory and other approvals.
