Due to the adoption of Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 150, Accounting for Certain Financial Instruments with Characteristics of both Liabilities and Equity, and the subsequent adoption of Financial Accounting Standards Board Interpretation No. 46 (revised December 2004), Consolidation of Variable Interest Entities, the expense associated with these securities was included in interest expense beginning with the third quarter of 2003.
