SUBSEQUENT EVENTS	SUBSEQUENT EVENTS On April 1, 2018, the Company completed the conversion of Aflac Japan from a branch structure to a legal subsidiary. The treatment of Aflac Japan as a branch for U.S. tax purposes did not change following the completion of this conversion.
