Crittenden resigned as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American Express Company, effective that day. (c) On February 25, 2007, the Company named Daniel T. Henry as Executive Vice President and acting Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Henry, age 57, joined the Company in 1990 as Comptroller and served in such position until 2000. Since 2000, he has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company's U.S. Consumer, Small Business and Merchant Services businesses. A copy of the press release announcing the appointment of Mr. Henry is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
