AMERICAN AIRLINES GROUP

REPORTS JUNE TRAFFIC

FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines Group (NASDAQ: AAL) today reported June and year-to-date 2016 traffic results.

American Airlines Group’s total revenue passenger miles (RPMs) were 20.9 billion, up 2.2 percent versus June 2015. Total capacity was 24.6 billion available seat miles (ASMs), up 2.8 percent versus June 2015. Total passenger load factor was 84.9 percent, down 0.5 percentage points versus June 2015.

The Company expects its second quarter 2016 consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) to be down approximately 6 to 7 percent year-over-year. In addition, the Company continues to expect its second quarter pretax margin excluding special items1 to be between 14 and 16 percent. The following summarizes American Airlines Group traffic results for the month and year-to-date ended June 30, 2016, and 2015, consisting of mainline-operated flights, wholly owned regional subsidiaries and operating results from capacity purchase agreements.
