Impairment and Other In the second quarter of 2023, we recognized a pre-tax charge of $82 million ($82 million after income taxes) that resulted from revisions to estimated costs to abandon certain wells, pipelines and production facilities in the West Delta Field in the Gulf of Mexico. These abandonment obligations were assigned to us as a former owner after they were discharged from Fieldwood Energy LLC as part of its approved bankruptcy plan in 2021.
