GAP INC. ANNOUNCES NEW $500 MILLION

SHARE REPURCHASE PROGRAM

Company Returns over $2 Billion in Share

Repurchases Year to Date

SAN FRANCISCO – November 17, 2011 – Gap Inc. (NYSE:GPS) today announced that its Board of Directors approved a new $500 million share repurchase program, effective immediately. Year to date, the company has repurchased about 107 million shares for $2 billion, underscoring the company’s continued commitment to returning cash to shareholders.
