On October 24, 2003, Massey Energy Company (the “Company”) issued a press release, attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto, which is incorporated herein by reference, reporting the commencement by the Company of a proposed private offering (the “Offering”) of $360 million aggregate principal amount of Senior Notes due 2010.

In connection with the Offering, the Company is making available certain written information about the Company to the potential investors in the Offering. Attached hereto as
