8.	Equity Investments

Under liquidation accounting, equity investments are carried at net realizable value. The Liquidating Trust’s nominal ownership percentages in its equity investments consist of the following at December 31, 2016 and December 31, 2015:

(1)	The investment in this venture provides the Liquidating Trust and Winthrop with a 60.72% and 61.14% effective ownership interest in the underlying property at December 31, 2016 and 2015, respectively.

Investment was reclassified as an equity investment as of December 31, 2015 due to a change in exit strategy. The investment was consolidated in previous filings. The nominal ownership percentage is based on the waterfall provision of the partnership. See Note 3 - Basis of Presentation for further discussion.

(3)	Winthrop’s investment was sold or fully redeemed during the year ended December 31, 2016.

(4)	Investment was reclassified as an investment in real estate as of November 30, 2016 due to a change in exit strategy. See Note 3 - Basis of Presentation for further discussion.
