Item 8.01 Other Events

On November 1, 2004, BancWest Corporation announced that it had completed the acquisitions of Community First Bankshares, Inc., parent company of Community First National Bank and Community First Insurance, Inc., and USDB Bancorp, parent company of Union Safe Deposit Bank.
