EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of this Amendment No. 1 on Form 10-K/A to Bolt Technology Corporation’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 14, 2012 (the “Form 10-K”), is solely to furnish Exhibit 101 to the Form 10-K in accordance with Rule 405 of Regulation S-T. Exhibit 101 to this report provides the following materials from the Form 10-K formatted in eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL): (i) Consolidated Balance Sheets at June 30, 2012 and June 30, 2011, (ii) Consolidated Statements of Income for the years ended June 30, 2012, June 30, 2011 and June 30, 2010, (iii) Consolidated Statements of Cash Flows for the years ended June 30, 2012, June 30, 2011 and June 30, 2010, (iv) Notes to Consolidated Financial Statements and (v) Schedule II —  Valuation and Qualifying Accounts.
