3. MARKETABLE SECURITIES

Marketable securities at March 31, 2014 consisted of investments in publicly traded companies with a fair market value of $1,460,000, an aggregate cost basis of $1,471,000, gross unrealized gains aggregating $16,000 and gross unrealized losses aggregating $27,000. Securities in a loss position at year end had a fair market value of $1,185,000 and had been in a continuous loss position for less than twelve months. There were no investments in marketable securities at March 31, 2013. The Company realized gains of $11,000 from the sale of securities during the year ended March 31, 2014.
