Supreme Court annuls 2009 Enterprise Court ruling to hold an inquiry in

respect of ASM International N.V.

ALMERE, The Netherlands – July 9, 2010 – ASM International N.V. (NASDAQ: ASMI and Euronext Exchange in Amsterdam: ASM) today notes the announcement by the Supreme Court in the Netherlands to annul the ruling of the Enterprise Court dated August 5, 2009 to hold an inquiry into the affairs of ASMI as requested by certain shareholders of the Company.
