Item 8.01 Other Events--Issuance of Press Release announcing increase in Cash Dividend provided under Items 7.01 and 8.01 of Form 8-K

Community Trust Bancorp, Inc. announced today an increase in its cash dividend from 26 cents per share to 27 cents per share payable on January 1, 2007 for shareholders of record as of December 15, 2006. A copy of the press release is being furnished to the Securities and Exchange Commission pursuant to Items 7.01 and 8.01 of Form 8-K and is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1. COMMUNITY TRUST BANCORP, INC., INCREASES ITS CASH DIVIDEND

PIKEVILLE, KENTUCKY:

Community Trust Bancorp, Inc., (NASDAQ-CTBI) increased its cash dividend to $0.27 per share, which will be paid on January 1, 2007, to shareholders of record on December 15, 2006. This represents an increase of 3.85% in the quarterly cash dividend.
