Dear [Personalized]:

As you may be aware, Fidelity Investments® is planning to make several changes to the lineup of Fidelity Select Portfolios. These changes include the adoption of new fund benchmarks, certain investment policy changes, and the elimination of various fees and features. We will also discontinue hourly pricing of the Select Portfolios as of October 1, 2006. Once this restructuring is complete, we feel that investors will be able to more accurately track their funds' performance and more effectively utilize Select Portfolios when building diversified investment portfolios.

Why we're removing hourly pricing. Since hourly pricing was introduced in 1986, the marketplace has evolved, and other products such as exchange traded funds now exist that not only track many of the same sectors and industries as the Select Portfolios, but also can be bought and sold at intra-day market prices.

As part of the product line restructuring, we intend to emphasize the funds for long-term investors seeking to overweight certain market segments within their overall portfolio. In connection with the removal of hourly pricing the funds will adopt excessive trading policies similar to many of our other equity funds.

As of October 1, 2006, all Fidelity Select Portfolios will be priced daily at 4 p.m. like all other Fidelity funds. In connection with the removal of hourly pricing, there are two other product line modifications that investors should note:

1) Adoption of standard Fidelity fund trading policies. The Select Portfolios will adopt Fidelity's standard fund market timing policy, as described in the funds' prospectus. Visit www.fidelity.com for the current prospectus.

2) Elimination of the $7.50 exchange fee. The $7.50 fee currently charged on fund exchanges not made through automated channels will be removed on October 1, 2006.

Your vote is needed. Though the elimination of hourly pricing does not require shareholder approval, certain investment policy changes related to the product line restructuring will. A proxy statement was mailed to shareholders in late July and contains detailed information about the changes. The funds' Trustees agree that these changes and proposals are in the best interest of fund shareholders. We ask that you vote to approve all the proposed changes in advance of our shareholder meeting in September.

If you have any questions or concerns about these upcoming changes, I encourage you to contact a Fidelity Representative at 1-800-507-9987.

Thank you again for your investment in Fidelity Select Portfolios.

Sincerely,

/s/ Sanjiv Mirchandani

Please remember your vote is very important - whether you hold many shares or just a few. So if you receive a proxy request, please respond promptly.
