Tellabs plans to reduce its work force by about 1,000 people

On November 16, 2001, Tellabs, Inc. ("Tellabs") announced its plans to reduce its work force by about 1,000 people. Further details are contained in the press release of Tellabs, Inc., dated November 16, 2001, attached hereto as Exhibit 99 and incorporated herein by reference.
