On March 20, 2012, Mesa Royalty Trust issued a press release announcing Mesa Royalty Trust’s royalty income, income distribution for the month of March 2012. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.

AUSTIN, TEXAS March 20, 2012 — Mesa Royalty Trust (NYSE symbol-MTR) announced the Trust income distribution for the month of March 2012. Unitholders of record on March 30, 2012 will receive distributions amounting to $0.164631841 per unit payable on April 30, 2012. The Trust received $117,461 and $33,650 from the New Mexico and Colorado portions of the San Juan Basin Properties. Royalty income from the Hugoton Properties totaled $175,306.
