COVANTA HOLDING CORPORATION ANNOUNCES
RETIREMENT OF DIRECTORS CLAYTON YEUTTER AND RICHARD HUBER

FAIRFIELD, NJ, April 1, 2010 – Covanta Holding Corporation (NYSE:CVA) announced today that Clayton Yeutter and Richard L. Huber, both longtime Covanta directors, will retire from the Board when their terms expire in May, 2010.
