NOTE 8. CERTIFICATES OF DEPOSIT

Certificates of deposit in denominations of $250 thousand or more were $223.4 million and $133.9 million as of December 31, 2023 and 2022, respectively. Interest expense on certificates of deposit of $250 thousand or more was $4.2 million, $2.0 million and $3.8 million for the years ended December 31, 2023, 2022 and 2021, respectively.
