Item 2.05 Costs Associated with Exit or Disposal Activities.

 

On October 1, 2019, Consumers Energy Company announced a retention incentive program to ensure necessary staffing at D.E. Karn through the anticipated 2023 retirement of the coal-fueled electric generating units. The aggregate cost of the program through 2023 is estimated to be $35 million, assuming all eligible employees elect to participate. Actual costs incurred will depend on actual participation.
