Share-Based Compensation SHARE-BASED COMPENSATION
Under the TechnipFMC plc Incentive Award Plan (the “Plan”), we grant certain incentives and awards to officers, employees, non-employee directors and consultants of TechnipFMC and its subsidiaries. Awards may include share options, share appreciation rights, performance stock units, restricted stock units, restricted shares or other awards authorized under the Plan. Under the Plan, 24.1 million ordinary shares were authorized for awards.
We recognize compensation expense and the corresponding tax benefits for awards under the Plan. Share-based compensation expense for nonvested share options and time-based and performance-based restricted stock units $21.1 million and $12.9 million for the three months ended June 30, 2019 and 2018, respectively, and $41.5 million and $25.8 million for the six months ended June 30, 2019 and 2018, respectively.
