During the years ended December 31, 2023, 2022 and 2021, depreciation expense on property and equipment was $3.6 million, $4.4 million and $4.5 million, respectively. Based on a quantitative assessment of the carrying values, write down of abandoned property and equipment no longer in use due to office closures was $1.7 million, $0.8 million and $2.9 million for the years ended December 31, 2023, 2022 and 2021, respectively.
